Contrary to popular belief, poetry is a field very much alive and busy. Poetry is not born for commercial purposes, and not to soften the public accounts at year end: it is a feather in the cap, without which even the best cut dress would seem incomplete. The criterion was, for once, personal. There are endless fees and systematization of Italian poetry, but here I did not want to aim for completeness, representativeness or "justice literature." The objective of 'What is love "is to suggest to readers two hundred love poems inspired and powerful : to make them fall in love with this art, if not already, to renew their passion, whether it is standing. So, put some fixed points (limited to Italian literature, which does not feel like a limit, represent all the major poets, but also once famous and then resized, do without any note at the bottom of page) I accumulated hundreds of love poems and I read and reread quite a number of times. At each step, or drop any of them, not because she was beautiful or interesting, but simply because they were the most beautiful or interesting other. Of course, in my opinion.
